{"id":7074,"date":"2011-11-29T14:44:22","date_gmt":"2011-11-29T20:44:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/?p=7074"},"modified":"2011-11-29T14:44:22","modified_gmt":"2011-11-29T20:44:22","slug":"chicken-parmesan-bake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2011\/11\/29\/chicken-parmesan-bake\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Parmesan Bake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chicken Parmesan. \u00c2\u00a0One of my favorite Italian dishes, and something I&#8217;ve tried to recreate at home many times. \u00c2\u00a0Making it can be labor intensive, since you have to fry the chicken first, then cover it with sauce. \u00c2\u00a0This recipe for Chicken Parmesan Bake has been popping up all over Pinterest, so I gave it a try. \u00c2\u00a0The neat thing about this recipe is that the chicken is baked, not fried and garlicky croutons are used for the &#8220;crust&#8221;. \u00c2\u00a0I love the Food Wishes Video Recipes blog. \u00c2\u00a0I think seeing a video of a recipe being made is especially useful for those of you who need to SEE each step of the recipe and not just read it. \u00c2\u00a0This tasted great! \u00c2\u00a0The top of the croutons get crunchy and crispy and the bottom of the croutons soak up the marinara, cheese, and chicken juice and taste amazing! \u00c2\u00a0(This does taste best the day it is made&#8230;the croutons don&#8217;t hold up well for leftovers the next day.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Chicken-Parmesan-Bake.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7079\" title=\"Chicken Parmesan Bake\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Chicken-Parmesan-Bake.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"557\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Chicken-Parmesan-Bake.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Chicken-Parmesan-Bake-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Chicken Parmesan Bake<\/h3>\n<p>recipe from <a href=\"http:\/\/foodwishes.blogspot.com\/2008\/02\/end-of-chicken-parmesan-as-you-know-it.html\">Food Wishes Video Recipes<\/a> via <a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/thepickyapple\/dinner-ideas\/\">Pinterest<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve written out the recipe steps below, but you can also just watch the <a href=\"http:\/\/foodwishes.blogspot.com\/2008\/02\/end-of-chicken-parmesan-as-you-know-it.html\">video<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 tbsp olive oil<\/li>\n<li>2 cloves garlic, crushed<\/li>\n<li>hot red pepper flakes, to taste<\/li>\n<li>6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I used 3)<\/li>\n<li>2 cups marinara sauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup chopped basil<\/li>\n<li>8 ounces mozzarella, shredded<\/li>\n<li>4 ounces parmesan, shredded<\/li>\n<li>1 (5 ounce) package of garlic croutons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a 9&#215;13&#8243;
