{"id":6716,"date":"2011-10-02T20:04:10","date_gmt":"2011-10-03T02:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/?p=6716"},"modified":"2011-10-02T20:04:10","modified_gmt":"2011-10-03T02:04:10","slug":"slime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2011\/10\/02\/slime\/","title":{"rendered":"Slime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Littlest Apple has been begging to do another science experiment (and refusing all of my attempts to do arts and crafts), so today we made <em>slime<\/em>! \u00c2\u00a0We&#8217;ve done a similar experiment in the past, but this time I actually remembered to take photos to share with you. \u00c2\u00a0There are lots of different &#8220;recipes&#8221; for slime, but we used this one from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencebob.com\/experiments\/polymer.php\">Science Bob<\/a>. \u00c2\u00a0This slime was lots of ooey gooey fun, and it kept The Littlest Apple busy for longer than I expected! \u00c2\u00a0This would be a neat activity or party favor for a Halloween party.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Slime.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6718\" title=\"Slime\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Slime.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"557\" height=\"409\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Slime.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Slime-300x220.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What You&#8217;ll Need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Elmer&#8217;s glue (most kinds of white craft glue will work)<\/li>\n<li>2 disposable cups<\/li>\n<li>Food coloring (you pick the color)<\/li>\n<li>Water<\/li>\n<li>Borax Powder (available at most large grocery stores near the laundry detergent)<\/li>\n<li>A plastic spoon (for stirring)<\/li>\n<li>A tablespoon (for measuring)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What to Do:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Fill one small cup with water and add a spoonful of the Borax powder and stir it up. Then set it aside.<\/li>\n<li>Fill the other small cup with about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of the glue.<\/li>\n<li>Add three tablespoons (20 ml) of water to the glue and stir.<\/li>\n<li>Add a few drops of the food coloring and stir it up until mixed.<\/li>\n<li>Now the fun part&#8230;Add one tablespoons of the Borax solution you made earlier and stir well. Watch the slime form!<\/li>\n<li>After the slime forms let it sit for about 30 seconds and then pull it off the spoon and play with it!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Slime-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6719\" title=\"Slime 2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Slime-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"557\" height=\"835\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Slime-2.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Slime-2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Playing and stretching out the slime after it has dried out some.
