{"id":6301,"date":"2011-04-24T20:18:54","date_gmt":"2011-04-25T02:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/?p=6301"},"modified":"2011-04-24T20:18:54","modified_gmt":"2011-04-25T02:18:54","slug":"easter-egg-sculpture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2011\/04\/24\/easter-egg-sculpture\/","title":{"rendered":"Easter Egg Sculpture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Easter!!<\/p>\n<p>Are you wondering what to do with all of those leftover plastic Easter eggs?\u00c2\u00a0 Well, here&#8217;s an easy little project: create an Easter egg sculpture!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Egg-Sculpture-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6304\" title=\"Egg Sculpture 2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Egg-Sculpture-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"557\" height=\"835\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Egg-Sculpture-2.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Egg-Sculpture-2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Littlest Apple made this all by himself, using a glue gun.\u00c2\u00a0 Yes, <em>a glue gun<\/em>!\u00c2\u00a0 After reading all of <a href=\"http:\/\/teachertomsblog.blogspot.com\/2010\/06\/if-you-touch-this-part-it-will-burn-you.html\">Teacher Tom<\/a>&#8216;s posts about using glue guns with his preschool co-op, I thought we&#8217;d give it a try.\u00c2\u00a0 The Littlest Apple is always so fascinated with my glue gun whenever I&#8217;m using it for my own crafts, but I&#8217;ve never let him use it (or even touch it).\u00c2\u00a0 I explained the &#8220;rules&#8221; of using a glue gun, showed him which parts are hot, and how to use it safely.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Egg-Sculpture.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6303\" title=\"Egg Sculpture\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Egg-Sculpture.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"557\" height=\"715\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Egg-Sculpture.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Egg-Sculpture-233x300.jpg 233w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was so amazed at how much care The Littlest Apple took while using the glue gun!\u00c2\u00a0 He didn&#8217;t burn himself at all, and worked until we had used all of the supplies I provided.\u00c2\u00a0 For my impatient little guy who doesn&#8217;t like to wait for glue to dry, the near-instant dry time of the glue gun was just perfect.\u00c2\u00a0 He was pleased as punch not only with getting to use the glue gun, but also with his sculpture.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m looking forward to creating more sculptures using the glue gun in the future!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Have you let your kids use glue guns?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"linkwithin_hook\" id=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2011\/04\/24\/easter-egg-sculpture\/\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Easter!!
