{"id":5031,"date":"2010-11-26T15:24:45","date_gmt":"2010-11-26T21:24:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/?p=5031"},"modified":"2010-11-26T17:34:55","modified_gmt":"2010-11-26T23:34:55","slug":"black-bottom-pecan-cheeseake-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/26\/black-bottom-pecan-cheeseake-pie\/","title":{"rendered":"Black-Bottom Pecan Cheesecake Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I use Thanksgiving with my parents to experiment with new desserts and new side dishes, and then I bake\/cook whatever The Picky Apple requests for Thanksgiving with <em>his<\/em> family.\u00c2\u00a0 This year I brought a Black-Bottom Pecan Cheesecake Pie with a homemade crust to Thanksgiving with my parents.\u00c2\u00a0 It was delicious, but there was some stiff competition from two Derby Pie variations made by my brother (including one with 3 types of chocolate!).\u00c2\u00a0 If I can keep from eating all the leftovers, I plan to freeze individual slices of the pie for any last minute dessert &#8220;emergencies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Black-Bottom-Pecan-Cheesecake-Pie.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5034\" title=\"Black Bottom Pecan Cheesecake Pie\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Black-Bottom-Pecan-Cheesecake-Pie.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"557\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Black-Bottom-Pecan-Cheesecake-Pie.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Black-Bottom-Pecan-Cheesecake-Pie-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Black-Bottom Pecan Cheesecake Pie<\/h4>\n<p>from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0848731824?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=thepicapp-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0848731824\">Southern Living Homestyle Cookbook<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 pie crust (refrigerated, or homemade, my recipe coming soon)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp whipping cream<\/li>\n<li>1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened<\/li>\n<li>4 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup sugar, divided<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. vanilla extract, divided<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp. salt<\/li>\n<li>1 cup light corn syrup<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups pecan halves<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate syrup (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.<\/p>\n<p>Fit piecrust into 9 inch pie pan.\u00c2\u00a0 Fold edges under and crimp.<\/p>\n<p>Microwave chocolate morsels and whipping cream in a small glass bowl for 1 to 1 1\/2 minutes or until morsels begin to melt.\u00c2\u00a0 Whisk until smooth.\u00c2\u00a0 Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Beat cream cheese, 1 egg, 1\/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, and salt at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.\u00c2\u00a0 Pour chocolate mixture into pie crust, spreading evenly.\u00c2\u00a0 Pour cream cheese mixture over chocolate layer.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk together corn syrup, melted butter, remaining 3 eggs, remaining 1\/4 cup sugar, and remaining 1 tsp. vanilla.\u00c2\u00a0 Stir in pecans;
