Sensory Bin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To go along with our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/23\/apple-pie-scented-playdough\/\">Apple Pie Scented Playdough<\/a>, I created this Apple Sensory Bin after seeing one on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.notimeforflashcards.com\/2010\/07\/fall-preview-apples-and-acorns.html\">No Time For Flashcards<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Our Apple Sensory Bin contains fake red apples, pinto beans, black beans (which look like apple seeds, don&#8217;t you think?\u00c2\u00a0 That was my intention anyway!), pine cones and corks.\u00c2\u00a0 I would also like to add acorns like the bin on No Time for Flashcards, but I didn&#8217;t want to buy them and didn&#8217;t find any outside near our oak tree.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Apple-Sensory-Tub.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3959\" thoroughly enjoyed playing with this bin.\u00c2\u00a0 He likes to transfer the apples from the bin to a bowl using tongs, and scoops the beans, stirs the beans&#8230;.okay, and throws the beans too.<\/p>\n<p>This morning I got out the sensory tub for a playdate.\u00c2\u00a0 This was the first time I&#8217;ve done that, and it kept the boys busy for quite a while.\u00c2\u00a0 They sat facing each other on a quilt on opposite sides of the bin with bowls, tongs, and scoops.\u00c2\u00a0 This turned out to be a really great playdate activity (especially when there are just 2 kids).\u00c2\u00a0 I LOVE sensory bins!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Apple-Sensory-Tub-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
