Pie Scented Playdough"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t made any playdough in a while, and since it is back-to-school time, I thought this one would be just perfect!\u00c2\u00a0 (And obviously, anything apple related is perfect for my family!)\u00c2\u00a0 This is very similar to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/30\/pumpkin-spice-scented-playdough\/\">Pumpkin Spice Scented Playdough<\/a> that I made last fall, but this one is red and uses Apple Pie Spice instead of Pumpkin Pie Spice.\u00c2\u00a0 You can either purchase Apple Pie Spice or use the spices listed below as I did.<\/p>\n<p>This playdough would be perfect to go along with all of those apple crafts I&#8217;m seeing on all the blogs right now!\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve got an apple-themed sensory bin (inspired by <a Playdough<\/h4>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup salt (use iodized, not kosher for smoother dough)<\/li>\n<li>1 Tablespoon olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1 Tablespoon cream of tartar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup water<\/li>\n<li>Red food coloring (I use the Wilton gel colors)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 teaspoon ground allspice<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 teaspoon ground cardamom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stir ingredients together well in pot.\u00c2\u00a0 Over medium heat cook the dough, stirring constantly until  it  forms a ball.\u00c2\u00a0 Turn dough onto a board (or   the countertop) and knead until very smooth.\u00c2\u00a0 Cool.\u00c2\u00a0 Store in a covered plastic container.<\/p>\n<p>If I was really on-the-ball, I would have given The Littlest Apple an apple shaped cookie cutter.\u00c2\u00a0 Need to get one of those!\u00c2\u00a0 For now, we&#8217;re using our fall leaves, some cinnamon sticks, popsicle sticks,
