They were extremely easy to mix up, using ingredients I already had on hand.\u00c2\u00a0 I bought the containers and ribbon at Hobby Lobby for 50% off(2 different kinds of containers, because they didn&#8217;t have 4 of either type).\u00c2\u00a0 The labels are courtesy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marthastewart.com\/article\/natural-beauties-body-scrub?backto=true&amp;backtourl=\/photogallery\/mothers-day-gifts#slide_37\">Martha Stewart<\/a>, with a little help from my husband.\u00c2\u00a0 The Littlest Apple contributed too, by stamping paint on the gift bags with flower and butterfly shapes.\u00c2\u00a0 I was so happy with how they turned out, and both my mother and mother-in-law seemed happy too.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m definitely going to play around with other scents in the future.\u00c2\u00a0 My apologies for the slightly blurry photos!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3068\" title=\"Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Lemon-Sugar-Hand-Scrub.jpg\" alt=\"Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub\" width=\"557\" height=\"835\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Lemon-Sugar-Hand-Scrub.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Lemon-Sugar-Hand-Scrub-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub<\/h4>\n<p>from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bystephanielynn.com\/2010\/05\/lemon-sugar-hand-scrub-for-mom.html\">Under the Table and Dreaming<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 1\/2 cups white sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup extra virgin olive oil<\/li>\n<li>4 tablespoons lemon juice <em>(or essential oils&#8230;next time I&#8217;ll use essential oils and\/or lemon zest for stronger lemon scent)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mix until a gritty paste forms and pour into a container with lid that seals (a mason jar or similar).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3069\" title=\"Sweet and Spicy Brown Sugar Scrub\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Sweet-and-Spicy-Brown-Sugar-Scrub.jpg\" alt=\"Sweet and Spicy Brown Sugar Scrub\" width=\"557\" height=\"835\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Sweet-and-Spicy-Brown-Sugar-Scrub.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Sweet-and-Spicy-Brown-Sugar-Scrub-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Sweet and Spicy Brown Sugar Scrub<\/h4>\n<p>from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dominosugar.com\/content\/204\/sweet_n_spicy_brown_sugar_scrub.aspx\">Domino Sugar<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup dark or light brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00c2\u00be cup almond oil <em>(I used olive oil, but almond oil would be great, I think!)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. ground cinnamon <em>(I used more cinnamon, less ginger and nutmeg in the second batch I made)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. ground ginger<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. ground nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>1 16 oz. glass container with lid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a medium-sized bowl, combine all ingredients until thoroughly blended. Be sure to break up any lumps from the brown sugar or from the spices. Spoon into the glass container and secure with lid. Scoop a teaspoon or two of the scrub on your hands and gently massage in circular motions onto your skin. Leave on for 3 to 4 minutes before thoroughly rinsing.
