{"id":2346,"date":"2010-03-02T20:58:09","date_gmt":"2010-03-03T02:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/?p=2346"},"modified":"2010-03-02T20:58:09","modified_gmt":"2010-03-03T02:58:09","slug":"make-ahead-crisp-buttery-garlic-bread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2010\/03\/02\/make-ahead-crisp-buttery-garlic-bread\/","title":{"rendered":"Make Ahead Crisp Buttery Garlic Bread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the past, I&#8217;ve always purchased frozen garlic bread.\u00c2\u00a0 Particularly the Texas Toast kind.\u00c2\u00a0 After trying this recipe, garlic bread is yet another thing I&#8217;ll be making on my own!\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve made this recipe quite a few times already.\u00c2\u00a0 It is so easy to whip up a whole loaf at a time and freeze the extra pieces for later.\u00c2\u00a0 So far, I&#8217;ve used store-bought French Bread.\u00c2\u00a0 Ultimately, I&#8217;d like to use my own homemade French Bread in this recipe!<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2349\" title=\"Homemade Garlic Bread\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Homemade-Garlic-Bread.jpg\" alt=\"Homemade Garlic Bread\" width=\"557\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Homemade-Garlic-Bread.jpg 557w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Homemade-Garlic-Bread-300x155.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" \/><\/h4>\n<h4>Make Ahead Crisp Buttery Garlic Bread<\/h4>\n<p>from <a href=\"http:\/\/mykitchencafe.blogspot.com\/2009\/09\/make-ahead-crispy-buttery-garlic-bread.html\">My Kitchen Cafe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12 tablespoons butter, softened<\/li>\n<li>4 garlic cloves, very finely minced<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon pepper<\/li>\n<li>12 (1-inch) slices Italian or French bread<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Using a fork, beat butter, garlic, sugar, salt and pepper in small bowl until combined. Spread butter mixture evenly over both sides of bread.<\/p>\n<p>Freeze the slices on a large baking sheet or plate until firm, about 15 minutes. After they are firm, transfer the slices to a freezer ziploc bag and freeze for up to one month.<\/p>\n<p>To serve, preheat oven to 425 degrees. Arrange bread on rimmed baking sheet and bake until golden brown on the first side, about 10 minutes. Flip and bake until golden brown on the second side, 6-7 minutes more.
