{"id":1990,"date":"2010-01-27T21:37:57","date_gmt":"2010-01-28T03:37:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/?p=1990"},"modified":"2010-01-27T21:40:44","modified_gmt":"2010-01-28T03:40:44","slug":"i-think-i-would-scream-too","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2010\/01\/27\/i-think-i-would-scream-too\/","title":{"rendered":"I Think I Would Scream Too"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not to bore you with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2010\/01\/20\/update-on-the-littlest-apple-gi-checkup\/\">yet another GI update<\/a>, but tomorrow morning is The Littlest Apple&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/gastric_emptying_study\/article.htm\">gastric emptying study<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 And while we are eager to know the results of the exam, we aren&#8217;t exactly looking forward to the exam itself.<\/p>\n<p>The exam isn&#8217;t invasive, but it is rather unpleasant.<\/p>\n<p>After The Littlest Apple drinks some radioactive material, they will strap him down to a table, hands and all, and take scans every minute for 2 hours.\u00c2\u00a0 He&#8217;s going to be <em>strapped down. <\/em> For <em>2 hours<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 You can imagine how much The Littlest Apple enjoys that.\u00c2\u00a0 When we did the scan last year, the tech in charge of the scan told us that most children typically cry for a little while then fall asleep.\u00c2\u00a0 The Littlest Apple, our Little Exception to the Rule, did not.\u00c2\u00a0 He screamed the <em>entire two hours<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 Of COURSE he did.\u00c2\u00a0 Despite having a TV to watch, books to look at, and Mom and Dad doing everything they could to distract him.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re hoping this year will be different.\u00c2\u00a0 But I&#8217;m guessing it won&#8217;t.\u00c2\u00a0 I think I would scream too if I was strapped down for 2 hours.\u00c2\u00a0 In fact, it makes me hyperventilate a little just thinking about it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"linkwithin_hook\" id=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2010\/01\/27\/i-think-i-would-scream-too\/\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not to bore you with yet another GI update, but tomorrow morning is The Littlest Apple&#8217;s gastric emptying study.\u00c2\u00a0 And while we are eager to know the results of the exam, we aren&#8217;t exactly looking forward to the exam itself.
