{"id":133,"date":"2008-07-15T20:12:38","date_gmt":"2008-07-16T02:12:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/?p=133"},"modified":"2008-07-15T20:12:38","modified_gmt":"2008-07-16T02:12:38","slug":"banana-crumb-muffins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2008\/07\/15\/banana-crumb-muffins\/","title":{"rendered":"Banana Crumb Muffins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Picky Apple won&#8217;t eat bananas by themselves, but he WILL eat banana muffins.\u00c2\u00a0 Although we have our tried and true <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/30\/banana-crunch-muffins\/\">Banana Crunch Muffin<\/a> recipe, I wanted to find another banana bread or muffin recipe for a little banana variety.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;ve had lots of extra ripe bananas around here lately as they are one of the few foods The Littlest Apple (aka The EXTREMELY Picky Apple) will eat.\u00c2\u00a0 I found this recipe on <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Default.aspx\">allrecipes.com<\/a>, with 5 stars and 2,615 reviews.\u00c2\u00a0 With that many great reviews, I had high hopes for these muffins.\u00c2\u00a0 We weren&#8217;t disappointed.\u00c2\u00a0 The Picky Apple agreed that these are definitely 5 star muffins and wants to add them to our regular muffin rotation.\u00c2\u00a0 High praise indeed!\u00c2\u00a0 His only complaint was that the recipe only made 10 muffins!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/banana-crumb-muffins.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-134\" title=\"banana-crumb-muffins\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/banana-crumb-muffins.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/banana-crumb-muffins.jpg 455w, https:\/\/www.thepickyapple.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/banana-crumb-muffins-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Banana Crumb Muffins<\/h4>\n<p>from <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Banana-Crumb-Muffins\/Detail.aspx\">allrecipes.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> 1 1\/2 cups all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li> 1 teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li> 1 teaspoon baking powder<\/li>\n<li> 1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li> 3 bananas, mashed<\/li>\n<li> 3\/4 cup white sugar<\/li>\n<li> 1 egg, lightly beaten<\/li>\n<li> 1\/3 cup butter, melted<\/li>\n<li> 1\/3 cup packed brown sugar<\/li>\n<li> 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li> 1\/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li> 1 tablespoon butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span> Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 10 muffin cups, or line with muffin papers. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span> In a large bowl, mix together 1 1\/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span> In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
