The only thing that has saved me this year is that we can't put up a tree or decorations because of the kitten (believe me we tried, didn't work!). Gives me more time to do other things on my list. Oh Cara, you remind me of me... love lists, love having things to do on said lists. But seriously, you just had major surgery! Smart of you to cut back your list. I also decided to skip Christmas cards (for the first time in 11 yrs!) and have done ALL my shopping online. Most places will wrap for you, too!
